Panevezys Andrius Domasevicius Higher Medical School
On 1 March 1941, the courses for nurses started in Panevezys. The organizer of the courses and the former of the study plans was physician, later professor M.D. Mykolas Marcinkevičius (1882 – 1987).
On 15 October 1942, Medical School, after the graduation of the first students, has finished its work because of the beginning of the WWII.
On 1 December 1944 Medical School started its work again, and 50 nurses and midwives began to study. In June 1946, the first nurses graduated from Medical School after the WWII.
In September the two – year Midwives School was opened.
On 1 February 1949, Midwives School was joined with Medical School.
In 1954, Medical School started the training of paramedics.
In 1956, the first paramedics graduated from Medical School.
On 17 December 1965, Republican Panevezys Midwives School was named after the doctor Andrius Domasevicius(1865-1935) who was born and worked for a long time in Panevezys.
In 1991, Panevezys Andrius Domasevicius Medical School was reorganized into Higher Medical School during the reformation of the special comprehensive teaching system in Lithuania.
In 1995, Andrius Domasevicius Higher Medical School started the training of general nurses and ergotherapists’ assistants.
In 1996, Andrius Domasevicius Higher Medical School started the training of social workers and kinezitherapists’ assistants.
In 1996, the first paramedics for national defence graduated from school. Panevezys Andrius Domasevicius Higher Medical School was the only one in Lithuania which has prepared and realized the study program for the paramedics for national defence.
In 1997, the oral hygiene practical teaching room was established, and the school started the training of oral hygienists and dentist’s assistants.
On 30 September 2002, Medical School was reorganized into the Health, Social Care and Educology Faculty of the high non-university school Panevezys College.
Panevezys Higher Technical School
In 1960, Panevezys Polytechnic School started its activities in the building which was marked with the historical memory table in Klaipeda st. 3. In 1962, Panevezys Polytechnic School’s dormitory was built.
In 1963, Panevezys Polytechnic School’s sports collective was named after the sports club “Technician” for the high sports rates and massive work of physical culture.
In 1966, Panevezys Polytechnic School started the exploitation of the teaching complex in Laisvės s. 23.
In 1969, Panevezys Polytechnic School’s dinning – room seating 120 people was opened. In 1967, Panevezys Polytechnic School’s sports hall and the dormitory were set up.
In 1981, the second Panevezys Polytechnic School’s teaching complex was opened.
In 1990, Panevezys Polytechnic School’s students started to live in the new modern twelve – storey dormitory with 350 places of residence.
In 1991, Panevezys Polytechnic was reorganized into Panevezys Higher Technical School
In 1995, the first Panevezys Higher Technical School‘s practical teaching firm “Souvenir” was established.
In 1996, the second Panevezys Higher Technical School‘s practical teaching firm “Style” was established. It paid much attention to the organization of the students‘ practice and made contracts with AB Ekranas, Panevezys Electricity Networks and others.
In 1998, the departments of engineering and management were established in Panevezys Higher Technical School. The school also started the training of computer engineering, technical support and business specialists.
In 1999, Panevezys Higher Technical School started the training of accounting specialists.
In 1999, the department of extramural studies was established in Panevezys Higher Technical School
In 2000, Panevezys Higher Technical School library’s funds were transferred from the dormitory to the main teaching complex, the reading – room was also opened. Students can copy and print documents, use 6 computers and the internet.
On 30 September 2002, Panevezys Higher Technical School was reorganized into business and technologies faculty of the high non-university school Panevezys College.
Rokiskis Higher Pedagogical School
In 1967, Rokiskis Cultural School was established in the western part of the Mechanics Technicum building.
In 1976, the group of librarians with the secondary education was made up in Rokiskis Cultural School.
In 1984, Rokiskis Cultural School started the training of heads of the cultural – educational, cinematic – photographic collectives. The admission to this speciality was stopped because of the high expenses of studies. At the same time the school started the training of the heads of folklore collectives for the Folk Culture Center because of the acceptance of Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Lithuania.
In 1992, the pedagogical study fields were given to Rokiskis Cultural School’s study programs. The programs were coordinated by Vilnius Pedagogical Institute and Lithuanian Conservatoire. The new pedagogical study programs were prepared for the organists because of the acceptance of Panevezys Diocese and Ministry of Education and Culture. Rokiskis Cultural School started the training of music educators, music educators – the heads of ethnocultural events, music educators – organists. The new pedagogical programs were also prepared for English and German educators.
In 1993, the name of Rokiskis Cultural School was changed into Rokiskis College.
In 2000, the name of Rokiskis College was changed into Rokiskis Higher Pedagogical School. On 30 August 2002, Rokiskis Higher Pedagogical School was reorganized into the Rokiskis branch of the higher non-university school Panevezys College.
Panevezys College
On 30 August 2002, Panevezys College was established when Panevezys Andrius Domasevicius Higher Medical School and Rokiskis Higher Pedagogical School were reorganized into Panevezys College.
